Community Programs

Citizen's Police Academy

The Village Police Department hosts a Citizen's Police Academy for citizens who want to take part in a fun, hands-on12 learning experience about what we do and why we do it. This free Academy will meet for 8 weeks on Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm Topics will include Recruiting and Hiring, DUI Enforcement, Domestic Violence, Crime Scene Processing, and actual police scenarios! TRIAD

is a collaborative effort between the Sheriff's office, The Village Police Department, and senior citizens working together to reduce and prevent crimes against seniors. We host the free meeting on the first Monday of each month at 1 pm

Presentations

Upon request, The Village Police Department regularly gives various presentations to businesses, civic groups, homeowner's associations, schools, churches, and other organizations. Topics include Home Safety and Security, Neighborhood Watch, Bicycle Safety, Drug Prevention, Self Defense, and Citizen's Ride Along Program.
